BayTSP ( Tracking-Security-Protection ) is a copyright company [1] based in Los Gatos , California . BayTSP was created by Mark Ishikawa [2] and offers protective services [3] to copyright holders concerned about the possibility of unauthorized distribution of their works over the Internet. One of BayTSP's services searches the Internet for copyright infringement and sends a warning to the Internet service provider, which acts as the custodian of illegally posted content.

Although most BayTSP methods are currently unknown, it is known that the company makes extensive use of WebCrawler automated technology and a digital fingerprint database. BayTSP's digital fingerprint has been used as part of efforts to stop Internet piracy and the spread of child pornography.
The founder made such statements as “We can find a file posted five years ago and find any place where it is located now” and “We have 100 percent coverage of P2P networks; if you illegally exchange copyrighted material, then we know who you are. ”
BayTSP sends several million notifications per year to Internet users and hosting providers suspected of distributing copyrighted materials, which has created hostility towards the Internet community community.
