Igor Yakovlevich Pomerantsev (born January 11, 1948 , Saratov ) is a Russian writer, poet and journalist.

Biography
Igor Pomerantsev was born on January 11, 1948 in the city of Saratov . Grew in Transbaikalia [1] and Chernivtsi [2] . He graduated from the Romano-Germanic faculty of Chernivtsi University . He worked as a teacher in a rural school in the Carpathians , as a technical translator in Kiev [3] . Before emigrating, he published poetry in the journal Smena . The samizdat distributed poems and the story “Reading Faulkner” (published in the journal Syntax , 1979, No. 5) [3] .
He emigrated to Germany in 1978, and from that year he was a British citizen [1] .
In radio journalism - since 1980 ( BBC Russian Service), on Radio Liberty since 1987 , since 1995 - in Prague . Editor and presenter of the radio magazine “Over the Barriers” and the Sunday program “Red Dry” [4] .
The author of the radio play “Love on short waves”, “The favorites of Mr. Fabre”, “Basque dog”, “Can you hear me?” [1] [4] .
He was a member of the Advisory Board of the journal Forum ( Germany ). Since 1998 - Member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Counterpoint" ( USA ) [3] .
The first winner of the Vyazemsky Prize [2] , established by the almanac " Urbi ".
His son, Peter Pomerantsev, is the author of Nothing Is True and Everything Is Possible: The Surreal Heart of the New Russia, 2014.
