O'Reilly Open Source Convention (OSCON) is an annual congress dedicated to open and free software discussions. The event is hosted by O'Reilly Media Publishing House each summer in the United States .

- OSCON originally appeared as a Perl conference, but several years later, many issues related to Perl continue to be discussed at OSCON, leaving room for YAPC , considered one of the most significant Perl conferences in North America.
- It also hosts the annual PHP conference.
- Since 2003, a conference on the Python language has been held.
- The open source project Sun Grid Engine was announced at the 2001 conference.
