Subsequently, the continuation of “ Witness Missing ” (1971) and “ Preliminary Investigation ” (1978) was filmed with Valery Zolotukhin (district police officer Seryozhin) in the title role.
Content
Story
In the taiga village, where the rafters are rafting and everything is visible, an emergency occurs - a night theft in the village store . The smelter Nikolay Ipatov ( Mikhail Kokshenov ) is recognized as complicity. He was detained, but some contradictions on the basis of the materials of the criminal case do not give rest to the young district foreman Serezhkin ( Valery Zolotukhin ) - he realizes that Ipatov is innocent.
Suspicion falls on the artisan of cobblers-foresters and their foreman Ivan Ryabogo ( Vladimir Vysotsky ). On the night when Ryaby is about to leave (sail away) from the village with his beloved woman ( Lionella Pyryeva ), Serezhkin decides to intercept him and conduct a search. During the search, stolen things are discovered, and the foreman is forced to arrest him. But not only he was involved in the case ...

Additional Information
- The full-scale shooting of the film took place in the village of Vyeyzhy Log , Mansky District , Krasnoyarsk Territory and on the Mana River .
- During the filming, Zolotukhin, in his own words, "bargained" for Vysotsky, allowing local residents to look at the actor for milk and moonshine [1] .
- In 1970, the film took 20th place at the box office , attracting 26.8 million viewers.
- Vladimir Vysotsky jokingly recalled at his speeches: “Then they shot the film“ The Witness Departure ”, where Zolotukhin also played, but they didn’t shoot me because they put me in the first episode and didn’t let me out for the second episode.
