Voskepar ridge . The Voskepar ridge is a watershed of the basins of the right tributary of the Kura Nijasu from the north and the left tributary of the Agstev-Akstafa of the Voskepar-Jogas river. It is composed of limestones and marls. It stretches from west to northeast for 3
8 km from the peak of 1680 m at the junction of Kozman and Hugarac. It is covered in the western half by oak and beech forests, in the eastern - by grasses burning out towards the end of summer. The etymology of this Armenian name is amazing, as well as the peak of Voskevan, located in the middle of the ridge. The first means "Golden Dance", the second - "Golden Temple". Maybe there are those who want to find out the origins of such a mysterious etymology? From the nodal peak of 1,680 m along the trail on the northeast forest divide 4 km to the highest point of Miskhan (1538 m), 4 km to the peak of 1,424 m, 3 km east through a forest glade stretching across the ridge to the peak of Elyak (1361 m ) at the edge of the forest, 5 km along the edge of the forest to the peak of Voskevan (1240 m), 9 km to the north-east to the end of the forest. Further only along the grassy watershed: to the southeast 5 km to the peak of Surbsarkis ("Sarkis", 924 m) with a temple on it, to the north 8 km to the peak of Malachal (544 m) and 2 km to the eastern outskirts of the villages. Alibayramli, from where on the east on the road 7 km to the village. Yukharysalahli, through which the Kirovabad-Tbilisi highway passes. The total length of the route from the top of 1680 m to the village. Yukharysalahly 47 km. ( http://www.skitalets.ru/books/mal_kavkaz/voskepar.htm )

The etymology of the name of the village of Voskepar is associated with the mountain range of the same name - “wax” (gold) and “steam” (string, chain) (պար, պարան in Armenian). And in the name of the village of Voskevan, the words “wax” (gold) and “van” (place, settlement) can be distinguished (the last part is contained in the names of many villages and cities (Charentsavan, Ijevan, Tsakhkavan, Enokavan, etc.)
