CHPP-5 is connected to the power system by 4 overhead power lines:

  • Overhead line 110 kV 1 Unit TPP-5 - Substation Kirov. Designed for power output of the first power unit .
  • VL 220 kV 2 Unit CHPP-5 - Substation Kirov. Designed for power output of the second power unit.
  • VL 220 kV 3 Unit CHPP-5 - Substation Kirov. Designed for power output of the third power unit.
  • Desoldering from the first circuit of 110 kV overhead lines at Vyatka substation - Kirov substation. Designed for backup power supply of own needs of TPP-5.

History [1]

The decision to build the Kirov CHPP-5 was made in the 1970s, when it became clear that the existing heat and power generating structure had exhausted its capabilities to meet the needs of a growing city. On December 11, 1972, Glavuralenergo approved the “Kirov Supply Scheme for 1980”, which revealed a shortage of heat capacity in Kirov, on the basis of which it was possible to achieve inclusion in the earlier adopted resolution of the CPSU Central Committee and the USSR Council of Ministers of November 11, 1972 No. 741 “On assistance measures Kirov region in strengthening the agricultural economy "paragraph

ensure in 1973-1975 the development of a project for a thermal power plant in the Kirov Region, with a view to realizing its construction in 1976-1980 with the participation of interested ministries and departments.

January 22, 1975 the Ministry of Energy of the USSR approved the construction site - the territory south of the village of Lomovskaya in the boundaries of Kirov. October 19, 1977 by order of the Minister of Energy and Electrification of the USSR approved the technical design of the future CHP. The construction was entrusted to two general contractors: the Severovostokenergostroy trust of the Glavcentresenergostroy Ministry of Energy of the USSR and the Gortranestroy trust of the Ministry of Transport of the USSR. A railway line from the Chukhlominsky station of the Gorky Railway was laid to the station. In 1981, the Kirov CHPP-5 was commissioned. In 1988, two TGV-200-2MUZ turbogenerators were put into operation, and the rated power of 450 Megawatts was achieved. In 1990, the station was prepared for operation on natural gas .

In 1992, CHPP-5 became part of the emerging Kirovenergo joint-stock company. In May 2005, during the reorganization of Kirovenergo, CHPP-5 became part of the Vyatka Electric Thermal Company. In June 2005, VTK property lease agreement with Territorial Generating Company No. 5, created as a result of the reorganization of RAO UES , was approved. March 31, 2006 Vyatka thermal energy company became part of TGK-5. [2]
