Biography
During the fascist rule in Italy, he took part in the resistance movement . Arrested in 1935. In 1936, the Special Tribunal sentenced him to 24 years in prison. In prison, where Pesenti spent 8 years, he became a communist.
Member of the Committee for National Liberation of the South of Italy (1943-1944). In April 1944 he became Deputy Minister of Finance as a representative of the IKP. From December 12, 1944 to June 19, 1945, Minister of Finance in the coalition government. In 1946-1947, vice president of the Institute for the Reconstruction of Industry. Member of the Constituent Assembly (1946-1947). From 1946 until the end of his life - a member of the Central Committee of the IKP. He was elected as a deputy of the Chamber of Deputies and a senator .
He taught at the universities of Rome, Parma and Pisa. He became one of the founders and leaders of the "Center for the Study of Soviet Economics" [2] . He was a specialist in the field of finance , financial law and credit relations. He is the author of several fundamental studies on these problems (Lectures on the Science of Finance and Financial Law and Essays on the Political Economy of Capitalism). In 1985, the Institute of Higher Education (formerly the Experimental Higher School) received its name.
