Tyrrell 012

The Tyrrell 012 is a sports car designed by designer Maurice Philippe for the Benetton Tyrrell Team . The car debuted in the 1983 season, was used throughout the 1984 season, and spent several races in 1985 .

History

The chassis 012 was the first in the history of the team, made of carbon fiber (fibrocarbon). The conventional atmospheric engine of the Ford Cosworth DFV did not allow the team to compete on equal terms with cars of top teams equipped with powerful turbo engines.
