Content
Geography
Pervomaisky district is located in the south-west of the Orenburg region and borders: in the south - with the Republic of Kazakhstan , in the west - with the Samara region , in the south-west - with the Saratov region , in the north - with Kurmanaevsky , in the north-east - with Totsky , in in the east - with the Tashlinsky districts.
The area is 5055 km². The greatest length from north to south is 87 km, from west to east - 108 km.
History
The district was formed as Teplovsky (center - the village of Teplovka) in June 1928 as part of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as part of the RSFSR . On December 7, 1934, the greater part of the region was transferred from the composition of the Kazak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic to the Orenburg Region [4] . Renamed to May Day on May 21, 1962 (the center was moved to the village of May Day).

Municipal Territory
By the Law of the Orenburg Region dated May 12, 2015 No. 3228/870-V-OZ [14] , the rural settlements of the Tulip Village Council and the Furman Village Council were transformed, by unification, into the rural settlement of Furmanovsky Village Council .

Economics
The main branch of the regional economy is the production of agricultural products. The area specializes in grain and meat and dairy. Agricultural production is carried out by 18 large and medium-sized agricultural enterprises (SPK Avangard, SPK Nikolskoye, SPK Miroshkin, SPK Furmanov and others), 95 peasant farms and private farms.
The industry of the region is represented by the fuel industry (the oil industry). About 800 km of gas pipelines were laid in the territory.
Transport
The Bugulma - Buguruslan - Buzuluk - Uralsk highway runs through the district. In the extreme south-west of the region, the Samara - Uralsk highway passes. In the far north-west of the region is the Tulip railway station, located on the Pogromnoye-Pugachev branch.
Pervomaisky district borders with the Republic of Kazakhstan for 232 km. There are two border crossing points: a large open for citizens of all countries of the world - Mashtakov [1] and a small one only for citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan - Teploe [2] .
