The territory of the rural settlement was located in the east of the Novgorod region on the Valdai Hills , east of Borovichi . On the territory of the municipality flow the rivers Uver , Regge, and others. The territory of the rural settlement overlooks the eastern shore of Lake Bologna.
Baryshov rural settlement was established in accordance with the law of the Novgorod region of November 11, 2005 No. 559-OZ .
