Use of the term in Marxism

The concept of “valorization of capital” was introduced by K. Marx in Chapter 7 of the first volume of “ Capital ”. In German, the original term sounds like “Verwertung” (or “Kapitalverwertung”). The modern economic community has adopted the French term “valorisation”. The French term is translated as "a process to increase fixed capital."

Karl Marx defined the capitalist process of production as the process of labor to create use value , and as the process of creating value by creating a new value for a given value. However, the creation of value as such is not what the capitalist is aiming at. The capitalist wants to constantly increase his capital. This means that the employee must create a value that will be greater than that which he will receive in the form of a salary . Thus, the worker creates surplus value. When the process of creating value goes beyond the limits in which the employee can create value from his own labor , the cost of capital begins to increase, this is the process of valorization.

Use in Russian regulations

Since 2009, the term is mentioned in Russian law in connection with the so-called “Valorization of pension rights” reflected in a number of Federal laws (including “On amendments to certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation and recognition of certain legislative acts (provisions of legislative acts) of the Russian Federation as invalid in connection with the adoption of the Federal Law“ On insurance contributions in the pension fund of the Russian Federation , the social insurance fund of the Russian Federation , the federal fund for compulsory medical insurance and the territorial fund for compulsory medical insurance "", No. 213-ФЗ dated 07.24.2009, etc.).
