Life
Princess Maria was born in the Berlin City Palace in the family of Friedrich Wilhelm Karl of Prussia and Marianne of Hesse-Homburg . The childhood of the princess passed in the Silesian palace Fischbach. In 1842, Maria Frederic married the heir to the Bavarian throne Maximilian, the future king of Bavaria Maximilian II .
On March 10, 1864, Mary Frederic was widowed and converted to Catholicism in 1874. She retired to a country house in the Lechtal Valley and Hohenschwangau Castle. She was buried in one of the side chapels of the Munich Theater Theater opposite her husband Maximilian II.
Descendants
In a marriage with King Maximilian, two sons were born:
- Ludwig Otto Friedrich Wilhelm (1845–1886), King of Bavaria
- Otto Wilhelm Luitpold (1848-1916), King of Bavaria
