Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar ( Guja . ભાવનગર , Hindi भावनगर , Eng. Bhavnagar ) is a city and port in the North-West of India , in the state of Gujarat , on the Kathiyavar Peninsula, on the shores of the Gulf of Cape in the Arabian Sea . The population of 510,974 people (2001). It was founded in 1723 by Bhavsinji Gohil .

Bhavnagar is the administrative center of the Bhavnagar region . Bhavnagar is also called the cultural capital of Saurashtra .

Bhavnagar has a tropical humid and dry climate with hot and dry weather from March to mid-June; then comes the wet monsoon season from mid-June to October, when the city receives approximately 550 mm of rainfall.
