The St. Petersburg Higher Military School of Radio Electronics is a higher military educational institution of vocational education , for the training of officers of the radio-technical troops of the Air Defense Forces of the USSR and the Russian Federation from 1953 to 2011 .

Content

History

The school is considered the successor to the Vilnius Military School that existed in the Russian Empire from 1864 to 1918. The modern history of the school begins after Lithuania entered the USSR on August 2, 1940.

  • The Vilnius Infantry School was formed in Vilnius on the basis of the order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR S.K. Timoshenko No. 0191 dated August 17, 1940 on the basis of the Lithuanian Cadet School.
  • The Vilnius Radio Engineering School was created by a directive of the Minister of Defense of the USSR of February 3, 1953 and a directive of the commander of the Air Defense Forces of February 6, 1953.
  • In 1966, the staff of the Stavropol Radio Engineering School , headed by Major General Logvinovsky, was transferred to the school. [one]
  • In accordance with the order of the USSR Minister of Defense and the directive of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of June 9, 1971, the Vilnius Radio Technical School of the Air Defense Forces was transformed into the Vilnius Higher Command School of Air Defense Electronics .
  • In 1992, by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the CIS Air Forces No. 70 dated February 21, 1992, the St. Petersburg Higher Air Defense School of Air Defense was established by transferring the Vilnius Higher Command School of Air Defense Electronics to the base of the A.V. Andropov Air Defense Higher Technical School , in accordance with this, the Higher Air Defense Command of Air Defense was withdrawn from The territory of the Republic of Lithuania to St. Petersburg .
  • On November 1, 1998 , according to the reform program, the school was renamed into a branch of the Military University of Air Defense [2] .
  • In 1999, the educational and material part of the disbanded KVKURE air defense and 800 cadets arrived at the school.
  • On January 1, 2005 it was renamed the St. Petersburg Higher Military School of Radio Electronics (Military Institute).

In 2008, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Right Prince Alexander Nevsky was opened on the territory of the school. [3]

  • On December 24, 2008 , on the basis of an order of the Government of the Russian Federation of 2008 N 1951-r, the school was attached as a separate structural unit to the Air Force Military Training and Scientific Center “Air Force Academy named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky and Yu. A. Gagarin ”And later it was announced as a branch of the Military Training and Scientific Center of the Air Force“ Air Force Academy named after Professor N. E. Zhukovsky and Yu. A. Gagarin ”(VUNC Air Force“ VVA ”) (Moscow, pos. Monino , Schelkovo district of the Moscow region). [4] [5]
  • By order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation of July 12, 2011 N 1136 the branch was liquidated. A. Gagarin" in Yaroslavl .
  • September 1, 2011 the school was disbanded.

According to military reform, since 2009, admission to the university has been reduced and the first enrollment of girls has been made. Since March 1, 2010 it has been a branch of the Air Force Research Center .

On September 1, 2011 , this university ceased to exist, the personnel and base of the university were transferred to the base of the air defense missile defense air defense system .
