Content
Story
The orphaned little Torik is taken up by the childless aunt of the boy and her husband. After the death of his adoptive father, Torik is left alone with his mother. When it comes time to create your own family, Torik is denied by the parents of all the girls, including the goldsmith, a cesspool toileter, considering him an unworthy groom because of his prestigious profession - a saddler. Somehow prostitutes arrive in the city, and almost all the men of the city, including the most respected heads of families, secretly go to them at night. Torik, having met one of the employees of the brothel, takes her as a wife and brings her home. To the question of the adoptive mother, how could he choose one, Torik explains: she is an orphan, like me. All the acquaintances, the townspeople, cannot forgive him a strange choice, but Torik is ready to do anything for his happiness. The priest tries to reason him, explaining that the community will not understand and condemn him. To this, Torik asks where the community was when he was lonely, when he was unhappy, and now he has become preoccupied with decency. And when a friend of Torik on the street loudly announces that his friend married a fallen woman, Torik slaps him and loudly announces - my lady is going to the bathhouse today. Having hired a crew, he proudly raises his head and carries his wife and mother around the city.
