Black-faced Cotting [1] ( lat. Conioptilon mcilhennyi ) is a South American species of passerine birds from the family of cottingidae ( Cotingidae ), distinguished into the monotypic genus Conioptilon . Birds live in tropical and subtropical humid and swamp forests, as well as in wetlands near streams, rivers, rivers and freshwater lakes in the southeast of Peru ( Ucayali , Cuzco , Madre de Dios ) and neighboring regions of Brazil (top of the river Jurua in the state of Acre ) and Bolivia ( Pando ) [2] [3] . Usually birds are found singly or in pairs [4] . Body length - 23-25 cm [4] [5] . The song of the bird is short, moving - “juiyu” the last three sounds are louder [5] , in addition to this song, birds can make a short sound “fluff” and a sharp sound “tsoyu” [4] .
