It differs from the Tantal Onyks submachine gun in a shorter barrel with a new arrester, which retained the ability to use rifle grenades . Onyks, like its prototype, had the option of firing cut-off bursts (in addition to single shots and continuous bursts). A folding metal butt is similar to that of the Tantal.
The L-shaped flip pillar has provisions corresponding to the firing range of 100, 200 and 400 m. A device for firing in low light conditions with tritium illumination can be installed. Installation of a grenade launcher or bayonet is not possible. The machine kit includes: three spare shops, a pencil case, a shortened (relative to Tantal) ramrod, belt, bag for shops and equipment, as well as a nipple.
Variant of Skbk wz. The 91 Onyks are distinguished by the use of a 5.56 mm NATO cartridge . It was created in 1990, when Poland reoriented in its foreign policy to the North Atlantic Alliance , but was not mass-produced.
