Sound

The sound of anarcho-black groups often also differs from the classic tru-black: in most cases they play either a mixture of black and crust punk (this was the beginning of the development of the style), or atmospheric black with elements of post-rock (now plays in this style the most famous anarcho-black project is Panopticon [3] , there are also elements of pegan black and viking metal , there are also bands that play quite traditional tru-black.

Origin

Amebix laid the foundation for the emergence of anarcho-black back in the 1980s, adding elements of thrash metal and proto-black to the crust punk. With the release of the debut album of the Canadian band Iskra in 2004, the history of such a style as blackened crust began . By that time, in the Cascade Mountains region (which includes British Columbia - the birthplace of Iskra), there were already many bands playing atmospheric black with texts inspired by the nature of this region. Owing to such themes of texts, some of these groups easily accepted the ideas of green anarchism , and in addition, the territorial proximity to the place where the blackend crater appeared. That is why the majority of anarcho-black groups are either from Canada (British Columbia) or from the USA ( Washington , Oregon , northern California ).
