Anatoly Konstantinovich Avdeev ( November 1, 1925 - June 18, 1996 ) - a participant in the Great Patriotic War ( Red Army soldier , gunner of the 873th Army Fighter Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment of the 33rd Army of the 2nd Belorussian Front ), Hero of the Soviet Union (1945), Lt. Col. ( 1975).

Biography
Born in a peasant family. After graduating from a seven-year school, he worked on a collective farm. In the Red Army since April 1943.
Participation in the Great Patriotic War and feat
Since 1943, a participant in the Great Patriotic War . Gunner’s gunner.
On July 5, 1944, Avdeev’s gun crew was ordered to prevent German forces from breaking out of encirclement in the vicinity of the village of Volma ( Belarus ). Having taken a position, fighters point-blank shot the enemy. The battle lasted 13 hours. The gun crew repelled 7 attacks. Almost all shells ran out, and 5 gun crews died. The enemy went on the attack again. A direct hit by a shell Avdeev’s gun failed, and the last soldier from the calculation was killed. Left alone, Avdeev did not leave the battlefield, but with a machine gun and grenades continued to fight. Having consumed all the ammunition and grenades, Anatoly grabbed an ax lying next to him and killed four more fascists. In this battle, the Germans lost about 180 soldiers and officers, 2 self-propelled guns, a machine gun and 4 cars.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945 , Avdeev Anatoly Konstantinovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
After the war
After the war he graduated from 10 classes.
In 1953 he graduated from junior artillery technician junior artillery courses ( Novocherkassk ).
Member of the CPSU since 1954.
In 1956 he graduated from the Tambov Artillery Technical School as an external student.
He served on the island of Kunashir , on Sakhalin, in the city of Shuya , in the GDR.
Since January 1970, Major Avdeev was transferred to the reserve due to illness. In 1975, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Victory, the rank of lieutenant colonel was awarded.
He lived and worked in the city of Kalinin (now Tver ).
Wife - Tamara Grigorievna (born 1932), two sons - Alexander (born 1954) and Sergey (born 1958).
He died on June 18, 1996. He was buried in Tver at the Dmitrov-Cherkassky cemetery.
One of the streets in Oshmyany was named after A.K. Avdeev.
