History

The “Vedomosti Vedomosti” was formed in 1861 after the merger of the “Commercial Newspaper” with the “Journal for Shareholders”. The founder and publisher -editor of the “Exchange statements” was the publicist, industrialist and banker Konstantin Trubnikov .

From 1865 to 1878, the evening issue of the “Vedomosti Vedomosti” - “ Evening Newspaper ” was published.

From April to the end of 1866, monthly scientific and literary additions to the “Vedomosti Vedomosti” were published, which included articles on international political events, fiction (mainly translated), political and economic articles, information on the annual state budget of Russia, a chronicle of production discoveries and improvements, articles on the history of technology, on the origin of races and more [2] .

In March 1874, Trubnikov sold half of the publication to Vasily Poletike , the then prominent entrepreneur who was engaged in publishing, when his affairs were shaken. With the transfer of publishing rights to Poletika in 1875, the opposition orientation of the newspaper sharply increased. She received warnings from censorship, and at times the publication ceased. In the 1870s , the newspaper collaborated: Nikolai and Vasily Kurochkin , N. K. Mikhailovsky , A. N. Plescheev , A. M. Skabichevsky and others. In 1879, the “Exchange sheets” were transformed into the newspaper “ Molva ”, which appeared before 1881 .

The editorial office was located in the house of Stuneeva (No. 11 on Konnogvardeisky Boulevard ). [3]
