History

Secondary School No. 74 was founded in 1961 . In 2002 it was renamed to gymnasium No. 74.

Educational process

In high school, the French language is studied. In 1997, on the basis of one of the eighth grades of the gymnasium, the first bilingual group in Belarus was opened, where French history and literature are studied in French, as well as an introduction to economics and sociology (later French was introduced into other disciplines, in particular, in lessons labor training [1] ). The choice of the gymnasium as the country's first experimental site was made by representatives of the French Embassy who familiarized themselves with the situation in the schools of Minsk with the teaching of the French language [2] . Gymnasium teachers are trained at the Vichy Center for Educational Research [3] . One of the two school theaters, Clartes, plays in French and participates in international festivals [2] [4] (in particular, Pantomimes Orthez in French Ortez [3] and the theater festival in La Turlandry , where the theater got after winning the Francophone Festival amateur theaters of Belarus in 2003 [5] ).

In addition to bilingual, classes in the physical-mathematical and philological profile were created in the gymnasium [4] .

After the 10th grade, everyone can apply for free to a branch of the University of Montesquieu Bordeaux IV .
