The State St. Petersburg Institute of Mechanical Engineering (LMZ-VTUZ) (abbreviated PIMash ) is a Soviet and Russian higher technical educational institution, founded in 1930 as the first in the country [1] " factory-technical college ". Belonged to the Leningrad Metal Plant .

On September 19, 2011, Order No. 2310 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation was attached to the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University as a structural unit [2] .
