Nukutsky district ( drill. Nγhedey aimag ) is an administrative-territorial formation ( district ) and a municipal formation ( municipal district ) in the Irkutsk region of Russia . It is part of the Ust-Orda Buryat District .

Geography
Nukutsky district is located in the southwestern part of the Irkutsk region. In the north it borders with Balagansky , in the southeast - with Alarsky , in the southwest - with Zalarinsky , in the west - with Ziminsky districts of the region. In the east it is washed by the waters of the Bratsk reservoir .
Territory
The total area of the district is 244.8 thousand ha.
Forests occupy 26.2%, lands of the water fund 12.6%, farmland 57.1%. The area of farmland of the region as of 01.01.2010 is 140 259 ha., Arable land - 85 172 ha (60.3%), hayfields - 5 367 ha (4%) and pastures 49 749 ha (35.6%).
Climate
The climate is sharply continental, with large temperature fluctuations during the day and in the seasons of the year. Winter is cold (January temperature from −22.5 ° C to −57 ° C), summers are hot and dry (July temperature from + 18.3 ° C to + 36 ° C).
History
Nukutsky aimak was formed in January 1938 . In 1962, the enlargement of the administrative-territorial units of the Ust-Ordynsky Buryat Autonomous Okrug took place; the aimak territory became part of the Alar district . After 10 years, by decree of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, the Nukutsky District was restored. April 1, 1972 is considered the date of the formation of the district [5] .

Tatars compactly live in Novonukutsky, Novosyolova, Chichikovsk, etc., founded by Tatars-immigrants during the implementation of the Stolypin agrarian reform .
Baptized Tatars, grunted , live compactly in Kharety.

Economics
There are 5 industrial enterprises operating in the Nukutsky district - LLC Knauf Gips Baikal, Autonomous Institution Nukutsky Leskhoz, OJSC Nukutskiy RTP, LLC Trud, LLC Krot.
Agriculture
The leading sector of the economy of the region is agriculture , which is occupied by 6 agricultural enterprises, 65 peasant farms, 5 agricultural enterprises and 5,139 personal subsidiary farms (LPH). The direction of agriculture is meat and dairy cattle breeding and grain production. Almost half of the agricultural land in the region is cultivated by the Primorsky agricultural cooperative.
The agricultural industry, including private household plots, to the greatest extent provides employment and self-employment of the population in the district and covers all municipal settlements, is crucial for the social stability of the village.
The activities of agricultural enterprises are focused on crop production (87% of the total agricultural output). In 2010, the farms of the district sowed 16546 hectares of grain crops and legumes, including wheat on an area of 8811 hectares, or 53.3%.
As of January 1, 2010, the number of cattle in the agricultural organizations of the region amounted to 814 heads, including 397 cows and 346 horses.
Social Sphere
The district education system includes 10 secondary, 5 basic, 12 primary, 1 evening (shift) schools and 3 institutions of additional education.
Medical assistance to the population of the district is provided by the central district hospital, 1 rural district hospital, 1 rural medical ambulance stations and 22 feldsher-obstetric centers.
