The club was founded in 1936 and currently performs in Series B. Pescara participated in seven seasons in Series A ( 1977/78 , 1979/80 , 1987/88 , 1988/89 , 1992/93 , 2012 / 13, 2016/2017). The team's official colors are white and blue.

History

In addition to entering Serial B in 1940, Pescara did not stand out for anything special until it again went to Serial B in 1974. In 1977, the club first entered Serie A for the first time in its history, but ended up finishing its first season in the elite division in last place. The second promotion in the class was not long in coming, but the blue and white flew out again, and then Serie C followed for two years.

However, the team managed to return to the second most important football division a year later. In 1987, Pescara, in which Junior and Blazh Slishkovich shone in those years, again managed to enter Serie A.

After departure, Pescara remained in Serie B for the 1990s, until departure in 2001. This was followed by an increase in 2003. As a result, the club finished last season 2006/2007 and replaced three presidents for the season. In December 2008, it was officially announced that Pescara had debts and that club management was transferred to the bankruptcy trustee appointed by the court. In February 2009, Deborah Kaldor was appointed chairman, thus becoming the first woman to chair. At the same time, the team's results did not improve significantly, and in March Giuseppe Galderizi was relieved of his post as head coach and was appointed Antonello Cuccureddu .

At the beginning of the 2009/2010 season, a new head coach was appointed Eusebio di Francesco . Pescara finished the season in second place in Group B of the Higher Division of the Professional League and won the right to play in the playoffs. In the semifinals, they outplayed Regina , in the final of Ellas Verona and once again reached Serie B after a three-year absence. The next season began with the appointment of Zdenek Zeman as the new head coach. The Czech specialist immediately set up an attacking game for the club, which turned out to be ideally suited to young and promising players such as Marco Verratti , Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne . In the 2011/2012 season , Pescara secured a ticket to Serie A for the first time in 19 years, beating Sampdoria 3-1 on May 20, 2012.
