Geography
Bai-Taiginsky kozhuun is located in the west of the republic. It borders: in the north - with the Republic of Khakassia , in the west - with the Republic of Altai , in the south - with the Mongun-Taigin kozhuunomi in the east - with the Barun-Khemchik kozhuun . The area is 7.9 thousand km².
Kozhuun is located in the Bai Taiga mountain range. In the Bai-Taiginsky kozhuun there is a cluster site “Kara-Khol” of the Ubsunur Basin State Biosphere Reserve.
The Bai-Taiginsky kozhuun is equated with regions of the Far North .

Economics
The basis of the region’s economy is animal husbandry. The Shiviligskoye field of radon waters has been explored on the territory of kozhuun, on the basis of which it is planned to build a resort. In July 2010, the Kara-KholTur camp site was opened in the Kara-Khol Sumon (Khol-Oozhu market town) [16] .
