The Orthodox Church commemorates July 28 (July 11) (the celebration, originally purely local, was established in the middle of the 18th century and was timed to coincide with the fair held under the walls of the monastery).

September 11 (24) also celebrates the last transfer of their relics from Veliky Novgorod back to the Valaam monastery, when the danger of an attack by the Swedes passed and the relics were deeply hidden , where they are still resting. According to another version, dating back to the 16th century manuscript published by N. A. Okhotina-Lind [5] , the celebration of September 11 was established in the middle of the 16th century in memory of the transfer of the relics of Sergius of Valaam from Novgorod, where he died, and their burial near the relics of Herman (feast of the "holy union").
