Biography
Born on January 14, 1915 in the village of Lisitsy (now the Kalinin district of the Tver region ) in a peasant family.
He graduated from 7 classes and the school of FZU.
In the Red Army in 1935 - 38 years and since 1939 . In 1937 he graduated from the regimental school of junior commanders, in 1942 - advanced training courses for command personnel.
He participated in the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-40 . He was especially distinguished in the battle during the storming of the village of Lipola (now the village of Kotovo, Priozersky district, Leningrad region ).
With a group of fighters, Halakhov threw grenades at the house from which the enemy fired, thereby contributing to the liberation of the village. In this battle, he destroyed three enemy officers. He was wounded, but remained in service.
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on January 15, 1940 for the exemplary performance of combat missions of command on the front of the fight against the Finnish White Guard and thus shown courage and heroism.
In the Great Patriotic War he was the commander of a communications platoon and the chief of staff of the regiment.
After the war, he served in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 1945-60 he was an employee of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Zhdanov District Executive Committee of the city of Leningrad. Since 1960, Major Galakhov - in stock, and then retired.
Died April 13, 1992. He was buried at the Kovalevsky cemetery in St. Petersburg.
