Salzgrabenhöhle is a cave in the Alps near Berchtesgaden , Upper Bavaria , at the southeastern border of Germany . It has a length of 9012 meters [1] and is the second longest among the caves of Germany. The entrance to the cave with a height of 8 and a width of 20 m is located at around 960 m above sea level at the Königssee lake .

The cave was discovered on May 10, 1959 [2] by speleologists Erhard Sommer from Berchtesgaden and Kayo Volgeshaffen.
