History
The association was established on January 1, 1950 in the UK. In May of the same year, its emblem and Esperanto motto Servo Per Amikeco (Service Through Friendship) were approved. The first members were 100 UK police officers, and after a few years more than 500 British police joined the IPA.
Since July 25, 1977, it has the status of a consultative representation in the Council of Europe ; since July 26, 1995, it has been included in the list of international non-governmental organizations by the United Nations .
Current status
As of June 1, 2016, the association has about 400 thousand police officers and police pensioners from 65 countries of the world.

The administrative center IPA ( International Administration Center ) is located in Nottingham (United Kingdom).

Russian Federation
An IPA office in the Russian Federation was established on March 28, 1992 under the name "Russian Section of the International Police Association" by police officers from nine regions of the Russian Federation. In 2007, the All-Russian Police Association became the successor to the Russian section of the IPA. As of January 1, 2012, the IPA IPA has regional branches in 65 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and has more than 10 thousand members.
The governing body of the IPA IPA is the Central Executive Committee (CEC), elected for a term of four years at the Association Congresses.
The president of the IPA IPA is the lieutenant general of the police Zhdanov Yuri Nikolaevich. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the IPA IPA is Vasiliev, Vladimir Abdualievich . Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees is Stepashin, Sergey Vadimovich .
