Content
Geography
It is located 5 km from the railway station Kiselikha (on the line Nizhny Novgorod - Kotelnich ) and 14 km from the city of Bor .
About a kilometer from the village there is a regional highway Nizhny Novgorod - Kirov (highway P159).
History
It was founded in 1946 as a working village. In 2004, it was transformed from an urban-type settlement to a rural settlement [2] .
The main type of industry in Soviet times was the extraction of peat , as well as the maintenance of a narrow-gauge railway branch, which also served peatlands. At present, the peat briquette plant is in ruins, the narrow-gauge road has been dismantled, and restoration into wetlands has been carried out on former quarries.

The population of 1321 people.
Infrastructure
The village has a post office of Russia , a hospital, an outpatient clinic, comprehensive school No. 15, and a kindergarten Zvyozdochka.
There are three streets in the village: Bolnichnaya, Centralnaya, 1st section.
At the end of 2012, a water supply from the Ivanovsky Cordon water intake (artesian well, a depth of about 30 m) was organized in the village, which radically changed the quality of drinking water.
Bird Sanctuary
On the territory of the village council is the Sitnikovsky ornithological reserve with an area of 2.1 thousand hectares. The reserve is located 8 km north of the city of Bor and includes a system of Sitnikovsky peat quarries. It was created to protect the largest gull bird settlement in continental Europe: lake gulls, blue-headed gulls, silver gulls, river terns, as well as hunting and rare species of waterfowl and water birds.
