Geographical position
The village of Orchik is located on the right bank of the Orchik river, 3 km from the place where it flows into the Orel river (right tributary). The riverbed is winding, forming several old women. Upstream the village adjoins the village of Runovschina , downstream it adjoins the village of Zarechnoye , on the opposite bank - the village of Maly Orchik .
History
- 1750 - date of foundation.
- Settling with the odnodvoryach began in 1745. In 1864, in the public settlement of Russian Orchik, Konstantinograd district of the Poltava province, there were 194 yards and 1288 inhabitants, 600 males and 688 females. In the settlement there was an Orthodox church, a village administration and a spare bread shop.

- Mass grave of Soviet soldiers 17 soldiers were buried.
- Orchik Arboretum - Arboretum park in the Kharkiv region, Zachepilovsky district. The arboretum was laid in a picturesque corner near the village of Orchik in 1967 by workers of the local forestry. Now more than thirty different species of trees and shrubs imported from other climatic zones grow in the arboretum.
- Monument to the villagers who died of starvation (1932-1933).
Religion
- St. Nicholas Church. Monument of architecture of the 19th century . It was erected in 1863 - 1865 . The main building material for the temple was wood, stone was used only for the construction of the basement. The building is decorated with carvings, in the interior there are paintings and works of decorative art.
