Irina Erikovna Bekeshkina - Ukrainian sociologist, specialist in the field of political and electoral sociology. Director of the Foundation for Democratic Initiatives [1] .
She graduated from the philosophical faculty of Taras Shevchenko Kiev State University and graduate school of the Institute of Philosophy of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. PhD in Philosophy.
She worked as a scientific editor of the journal Philosophical Thought, a junior and senior researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1991 - researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 1996 - Deputy Director of the Democratic Initiatives Fund, since 2001 - its scientific adviser. Scientific editor of the Political Portrait of Ukraine newsletter of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation. The Democratic Initiatives Fund, which it heads, was one of the first after the declaration of independence of Ukraine to conduct exit polls during the elections. An exit poll conducted by Democratic Initiatives during the 2004 presidential election showed massive electoral fraud and became one of the catalysts for the Orange Revolution . Irina Bekeshkina was included in the list of the hundred most influential women of Ukraine according to the version of Focus magazine in 2007 and 2008 [2] [3] .
She developed a structural model of personality as an object of comprehensive research and the concept of electoral behavior, its features in Ukraine.
The author of over 100 scientific papers and a large number of journalistic publications.
During the Euromaidan , she sharply criticized the “authoritarian regime” of Viktor Yanukovych and predicted a civil war if law enforcement pressed the opposition [4] .
