Patrick Brontë ( born Patrick Brontë ; March 17, 1777 , County Down , Ireland - June 7, 1861 , Hoert ) is an Anglican priest , teacher and writer , father of the famous Yorkshire writers - Charlotte , Emily and Anne Brontë .

Biography
Patrick Bronte was born March 17, 1777 in County Down ( Ireland ). He was the first of 10 children in a family of farm laborer Hugh Brunty . In adulthood, Patrick changed the spelling of his last name on Brontë . One of the possible reasons for the change of surname is called imitation of the title of Duke of Bronté ( Bronté ), granted in 1799 by Ferdinand I to Admiral Nelson , to whom Patrick Bronte treated with great respect [1] [2] .
Lived a long life, dying at the age of 84. He had six children, and he outlived them all. The latter, Charlotte, died 6 years before the death of her father, in 1855 , at the age of 38 years.
All 6 children were born by Patrick Maria Brenwell (1783-1821), with whom they married in 1812. Mary died shortly after the birth of her sixth child.
