Babaks [1] ( lat. Babax ) is a genus of passerine birds from the family of comic thimelias (Pellorneidae) [2] , was previously included in the family of thimelias ). South Asia : India , China , Myanmar .

Description
The wings are short and rounded (10-14 cm long), the tail is long (up to 16 cm). The beak is long, slightly curved, approximately equal to or slightly longer than the back toe with the claw combined. Nostrils are covered with numerous hair. Close to the genus Thrush thimelias ( Turdoides ). They live in mountain and lowland tropical and subtropical forests and shrubs. The Tibetan species Babax koslowi is found at heights of up to 4500 m. Representatives of the genus are included in the International Red Book , including two species with a status close to vulnerable position (NC) [3] [4] [5] .
