Central Park of Culture and Rest Gorky (Country Park) - the largest park in the city of Samara , a state natural monument of local importance. A 42.4- hectare park is located between the banks of the Volga River and Novo-Sadovaya Street . The park has a scientific, educational, cultural, recreational value. Oaks aged 100 years and over grow here, rare species of plants have been preserved, more than 7,000 trees and 30,000 shrubs in total. On the territory of the park there is a monument of archeology of federal significance (parking, a settlement of the VIII — IX centuries A.D.). Ground
The country park was opened on July 6, 1932 on the site of a former merchant's estate. On the same day, the Volga Commune reported in its news that in Samara “the Central base of culture and recreation was opened”. The project of the park planning was developed by architects V. I. Dolganov and N. T. Varentsov.

Attraction LLC in Zagorodny
- 2006. Attraction LLC requires, through an arbitration court, to sell the Zagorodny Park to it on the basis of the company’s ownership of buildings and structures located on its territory with a total area of 3130.8 sq.m. The claim of Attraction was satisfied, and as a result, the company bought out a land plot more than 100 times the area actually used by this company. [1] State registration of property rights was carried out on October 24, 2006, after which the land was immediately transferred to the ownership of Avenue-Realt LLC, whose right was registered on October 31, 2006.
- On March 13, 2007, the Eleventh Arbitration Court of Appeal ruled that the state registration of the ownership rights of Attraction LLC and Avenue-Realty LLC on a land plot of 375,315 m², which is the territory of the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after M. Gorky. [2] 90 percent of the park’s land was returned to state ownership.
Facts
- Earlier, the name of Gorky was carried by the Strukovsky Garden , which was called the Park of Culture and Rest named after Maxim Gorky (but not Central).
- In 2003, deputies of the Provincial Duma of the Samara Region, together with veterans of the Great Patriotic War, laid an alley of WWII veterans.
