The village is located on the right bank of the Luga River, at an altitude of 56 m above sea level [3] , west of its tributary of the Glubokiy stream, south-east of the village of Seltso and north-west of the village of Niva , on the highway from the village of Voronino to the village of Batetskiy . Three kilometers northeast of the village of Khochenskoye Lake, and 12 km to the southeast there is a village with a similar name - Khochuni .
History
It is mentioned in the scribe books of the Vodskaya Pyatina of Novgorod land in 1500 , as the village of the Assumption Sabelsky graveyard - Khochen , also referred to as Khochen in 1568 and 1582 , referred to as Khochen in 1612 , as Khochen in 1646 , 1678 , 1718 , and Khochen in 1539 / 1540, 1709 , 1748 , 1788 [4] . In the Novgorod district of the Novgorod province - the village was in Samokrazhsky volost. With the advent of Soviet power in the Samokrazh volost of the Novgorod district, the Samokrazh village council was formed to which the village became subordinate. According to the 1926 census, the population of the village is 270 people. Since 1927, the village and village council as part of the newly formed Chernivsk district of the Novgorod district of the Leningrad region . July 30, 1930 the Novgorod District was abolished. From September 1, 1931, after the abolition of the Chernivtsi district, the village was part of the Samokrazhsky Village Council of the Batetsky District. From August 1941 to January 1944 the village was occupied by Nazi troops. Since the summer of 1944, the Samokrazhsky village council of the Batetsky district as part of the newly formed Novgorod region [5] .
After the war, the village was the “Red Khocheni” collective farm, then the Khocheni village and the collective farm belonged to the Samokrazhsky village council of the Batetsky district [6] . Before the municipal reform , the Khocheni village in the Batetsky district was subordinated to the Ozerevsky village council, then the Ozerevskoy village administration.
