Partridge gained first and unexpected national fame after being heard on Don Paul , the leader of The Viscounts, on the street. Partridge's debut single, “Rosie,” released by Columbia Records in March 1968 [1] , rose to # 4 on the UK Singles Chart [2] . In April, Partridge began a British tour with Amen Corner , Gene Pitney , Status Quo and Simon Dupree and the Big Sound [3] Soon, his second single “Blue Eyes” rose to # 3 in June 1968 [4] . In February 1969, Partridge spoke at the Royal Albert Hall in London in front of 3,700 spectators. [5] Soon, the singer announced a decision to create a collective touring project with the participation of many street musicians. The idea failed, and the "starry" era in the history of Don Partridge ended. In 1969, he formed the band Accolade , which performed acoustic jazz folk , but, releasing two albums and one single, the lineup broke up in 1971 [6] .
Don Partridge returned to street art and for some time performed in Sweden , where he released two albums that did not have commercial success. Partridge was remembered in 2004 when his album The Highwayman was released , recorded with the participation of musicians such as Herbie Flowers , Nick Pinn [7] and Richard Durrant [8] . In 2005, his song “Breakfast on Pluto”, recorded in 1969 (# 26 UK) [9], entered the soundtrack of the film of the same name , after which Patridge conducted a British tour with the indie rock band Lemon Jelly [10] .
