Distribution and Ecology
On the territory of Russia, distributed in many areas of the European part and in Western Siberia .
It grows near streams.
Botanical Description
Perennial plant with creeping rhizome .
The stalk is erect, 20-40 cm high.
Cirrus leaves are separate.
The flowers are white, collected in a sparse corymbose brush .
The fruit is a linear, flattened pod .
Meaning and Application
The leaves of the plant contain vitamins ; in the roots, leaves and stems - essential oil (up to 0.04%), the main component of it is second-butyl mustard oil .
The aerial part before fruiting and unripe seeds in some areas are used as a spice . The leaves of the core have a sharp, burning, bitter taste. The taste of the salad made from them resembles horseradish . The leaves of this plant are used in the form of a salad, for the preparation of sandwiches, cold meat snacks, etc.
In Slovakia , core leaves are used for diabetes .
