Biography
Rhonda Fleming, nee Marilyn Louise, was born in Hollywood on August 10, 1923. Her desire to become an actress appeared during her studies at Beverly Hills High School [5] , and in 1943, three years after her graduation, she began to receive her first episodic movie roles. She had to be content with the title of “a girl not indicated in the credits” a couple of years before she got her first major role in the thriller Alfred Hitchcock “ Spellbound ” in 1945. After two more prominent roles, she appeared as the lead actress in the film "Island of Adventure" in 1947. [6] .
In 1949, Fleming starred in her first film using the Technicolor technique Yankees at the Court of King Arthur, a free adaptation of Mark Twain's novel of the same name. [7] Together with the leading actor Bing Crosby, she performed the song “Once and For Always” in the film, as well as the solo song “When Is Sometime” , thereby demonstrating her good musical abilities. After the film was released, Ronda recorded these two songs for a special soundtrack for the film.
In 1953, Fleming appeared in two films shot for 3-D, "Inferno" and "Those Redheads from Seattle." Over the next two decades, the actress remained in demand in the cinema, in particular in Westerns , with roles in which she was most remembered by the public.
