Story
The film tells about one of the pages of Soviet history - the conspiracy of the leaders of the diplomatic services of Great Britain , France and the United States against Soviet power.
Summer of 1918. The ambassadors of the allied powers of Russia in the war with Germany intrigue against the Soviet government. Through pastor Tiltin, a former regimental priest, a representative of British intelligence Reilly comes to one of the commanders of the Latvian riflemen . He plays on the patriotic feelings of Latvians, whose homeland was under German occupation after the Brest Peace .
The original purpose of the conspiracy is the desire to force the Bolsheviks to continue the war on the side of the Entente. Berzin without hesitation goes to the Cheka and talks about attempts to recruit Dzerzhinsky and Peters . The Chekists begin an operation to identify the conspirators and try to clarify their true plans.
Threatening to get out of business, Berzin learns from Reilly that the shooters should arrest all the main Soviet leaders and transfer power to the henchmen of the allies. For loyalty and unconditional fulfillment of the plan, a large remuneration was appointed, part of which was paid immediately.
At a meeting with Felix Dzerzhinsky, it was decided to take all the defendants red-handed on the day of the rebellion. The assassination of Uritsky provoked preventive arrests and some of the organizers managed to escape. Lockhart was taken to the Cheka, but, having diplomatic immunity, was released after interrogation and expelled from Soviet Russia.
