Academy of the State Security Service named after Heydar Aliyev

The Academy of the Ministry of National Security, the current State Security Service was established by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev on December 1, 1998 . The Academy is a higher military educational institution providing professional training for personnel of the State Security Service and the Foreign Intelligence Service, training highly qualified specialists with special higher education, as well as border controllers and border guard officers for the State Border Service .

Teaching at the Academy of State Security Service is carried out by scientists and individuals with long experience in the national security agencies and the State Border Service, which ensures that students receive the theoretical knowledge and special training necessary for future career activities. Practical and theoretical guidance of the scientific and educational activities of the Academy is carried out by the Scientific Council. The Academy conducts educational and methodical and research work in all specialties. Classes are held in educational buildings that meet modern requirements. To ensure a high level of the educational process, special classrooms, classrooms, computer rooms equipped with modern computers, audio-video equipment, stands have been created. There are also gyms and playgrounds with the necessary equipment and simulators.

The Academy has 3 faculties:

• Faculty of Border Troops;
• Faculty of training operational workers;
• Faculty of retraining and advanced training.
