Biography
Due to its unusual nature, the name of this rider was often mistakenly entered in the competition protocols as “Jean Max”. In 1964, he started in local rallies, in 1965-67 he participated in Formula 3 competitions, in 1968 he held his only 24-hour race at Le Mans , in which he competed three hours after the start. After winning the 1968 Formula Ford championship in France, he moved to Formula 3 , in which he won three prizes in two seasons.
In 1970-72, he several times without much success started in the European Formula 2 championship, and also took part in the French Grand Prix of the 1971 Formula 1 World Championship, in which he finished fourteenth with nine laps behind the winner and was not classified according to the results of the race. After several starts in the French Formula 3, in 1973 he completed a racing career and went into business, opening his own transport company.
