Yu Zhengsheng ( Chinese trad. 俞正聲 , ex. 俞正声 , pinyin : Yú Zhèngshēng ; born April 1, 1945, Shaoxing , Zhejiang province ) is a Chinese statesman and party leader. From March 11, 2013 to March 14, 2018, the chairman of the All-China Committee of the People’s Political Advisory Council of China [1] .

The son of the famous Yu Qiwei (secretary of the party organization of the city of Tianjin after the 1949 revolution), known, among other things, for the fact that in his young years his girlfriend was Jiang Qing , who later became the third wife of Mao Zedong [2] .

The BBC noted that Yu has strong ties with former Chinese leaders Jian Zemin and Hu Jintao , as well as with Deng Xiaoping’s family [5] . It is claimed that Yu played a role in opposing Yang Shankun and others who opposed Jiang Zemin’s succession to Deng Xiaoping. "Incident with an attempt to seize power" in 1992 [6] .
In August 2015, Yu Zhengsheng received a Taiwanese parliamentary delegation led by Zhao Yingqi . Once again, a unifying platform for the CPC and the Kuomintang was ascertained - the principle of a single China, rejection of the idea of independence of Taiwan [7] .
In 2016, Yu Zhengsheng made a speech at the opening of the international forum Ecological Civilization-2016 [8] .
Personal life
Yu is married to Zhang Zhikai ( Chinese 张志凯 ; Zhāng Zhìkǎi) daughter of Zhang Zhenhuang. They have a son. Yu was said to be friends with former leader Deng Xiaoping and his family, including Deng Xiaoping's son Deng Pufang. After senior Dan left politics, Yu was said to have served as the representative of his family in the Chinese government. He is known to speak without relying on the script, and is often called "Lao Yu" by people familiar with him [9] .
