Description
The hat is 3–7 cm in diameter, convex, then flattened and sometimes depressed, with the edge turned up. The surface is covered with a layer of mucus, pale, pinkish-brownish, grayish-buffy, yellowish, the mucus darkens when pressed.
The plates are rare, descending on the leg, branching, whitish in young mushrooms, then become dirty brown.
The peduncle is 5–11 cm long and up to 1.5 cm across, cylindrical, fibrous, adhesive, with a mucous ring, white or spotted at the top, and often yellow below.
The flesh is white or yellowish, it turns red in the air.
Spore powder is greenish black. Spores 16.5-21 × 6-8 microns, spindle-shaped. The basidia are club-shaped, 34.5-51 × 9.5-12.5 microns. Cystides are cylindrical or club-shaped.
Good edible mushroom .

Ecology
It forms mycorrhiza with conifers, in particular with larch and spruce . Widely distributed in Eurasia and North America .
