Vadim Klavdievich Oleinik ( November 23, 1922 - April 5, 1944 ) - commander of the 2nd battery of the 1991th anti-aircraft artillery regiment of the 64th anti-aircraft artillery division, senior lieutenant , Hero of the Soviet Union ( 1944 ).

Biography

Vadim was born on November 23, 1922 in the village of Mazepintsy (now the village of Lesogorka, Khmelnytsky region, Vinnitsa region ). When he was 7 years old, the family moved to the village of Bolshaya Kletenka. Here Vadim graduated from elementary school. From the fifth to the seventh grade, Oleynik attended school in the village of Kropyvnya. Vadim graduated from the eighth grade at Raigorodok secondary school. He worked on a collective farm.

After graduating from school in 1940, in the direction of the Ivanopol District Committee, Vadim Oleinik entered the Baku Anti-Aircraft Military School. Since 1943, Junior Lieutenant Oleinik on the fronts of World War II . He fought on the Kalinin and 1st Belorussian fronts . December 2, 1943 in the battles for Taganrog was shell-shocked, in February 1944 - wounded. Candidate member of the CPSU (b) since 1944.

In the battles southwest of the village of Dubovo (Kovelsky district) from March 28 to March 31, 1944, his battery shot down four He-111 aircraft and one enemy cargo glider, on April 5, V.K. Oleinik’s anti-aircraft battery was on anti-tank defense. Five Tiger tanks and Ferdinand self-propelled guns were destroyed by battery fighters. In this battle V.K. Oleinik died. He is buried in the city of Kovel, Volyn region .

Awards and titles

  • Hero of the Soviet Union ( August 22, 1944 , posthumous) - for the exemplary performance of the combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism discovered at the same time .

Memory

  • On July 15, 1968, the secondary school of the village of Raygorodok was named after V.K. Oleinik and a memorial plaque was erected . In 1971, a bust of V.K. Oleinik was installed near the school. In 1981 , when a new comprehensive school was built and opened in the village, the bust of V.K. Oleinik and the memorial plaque were transferred to the new school.
