Khalturina, Daria Andreevna

She graduated from the Department of History and Theory of Culture at the Faculty of Art History of the Russian State Humanitarian University (RGGU) with a degree in 020600 "Cultural Studies" ^{[6] [7]} . Candidate of Historical Sciences with a degree in Ethnology, Ethnography, Anthropology ( Institute of African Studies , Russian Academy of Sciences , May 2003 ). The topic of the Ph.D. thesis is “Moscow Muslims (Level of ethno-confessional tolerance; based on a survey in mosques)” ^[8] .

The main areas of scientific interest of D. A. Khalturina are sociology , social and cultural anthropology , demography , public health , cross-cultural and cross-national studies, interethnic and intercultural relations, the Islamic world, and Tropical Africa ; current trends in world development; Russian demographic crisis , alcohol and tobacco as factors of Russian supermortality. She participated in the Comprehensive Expedition of the African Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the United Republic of Tanzania .

Study of factors and mechanisms of the modern Russian demographic crisis

An important undertaking was also undertaken in collaboration with Professor HSE , an employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies and the Institute of Africa of the Russian Academy of Sciences A.V. Korotaev D.A. Khalturina study of factors and mechanisms of the modern Russian demographic crisis ^[9] (which served as the basis for scenario-based mathematical modeling of Russia's demographic future ^[10] ). Daria Andreyevna Khalturina, an employee of the Russian Civil Aviation Administration, and Andrei Vitalievich Korotaev, an employee of the African Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, put forward a project to change Russia's alcohol policy, which should correct the abnormal situation. In this case, we are talking about changing the price of heavy alcohol, and its availability, and about changing the role of the state in the trade in alcoholic beverages. This project has received great support in the expert community. Evidence of the appropriateness of the proposed measures are also statistics on the mortality of Russian citizens in 2006. The adoption of even half-hearted measures in this direction at the beginning of 2006 has already led to positive shifts.

He is the author of 8 monographs and about 100 articles on the problems of crisis management, public health, social psychology, armed conflicts of the present, demography, interethnic and interreligious relations, and mathematical modeling of social processes ^[12] . Among the well-known works is the report of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation “Alcohol abuse in the Russian Federation: socio-economic consequences and countermeasures” ^[2] .
