Simeon (Semen) Dmitrievich (? - December 21, 1402 ) - the second son of the Grand Duke of Suzdal-Nizhny Novgorod Dmitry Konstantinovich , Prince of Suzdal , the founder of the youngest branch of the Shuysky princes. He fought all his life with the Moscow Grand Dukes, trying to return the lands of his father.
In 1382, together with his elder brother Vasily Kirdyapa participated in the campaign of Khan Tokhtamysh to Moscow .
After the death of Dmitry Konstantinovich, Semyon and his brother received Suzdal and fought with varying success for Nizhny Novgorod with uncle Boris Konstantinovich . In 1393, the Grand Duke of Moscow and Vladimir Vasily Dmitrievich bought a label in the Horde in Nizhny Novgorod and expelled Vasily and Semyon from Suzdal, giving them in return Shuya . Vasily Chirdyap reconciled with the Grand Duke, and Semyon decided to continue the struggle. In 1399 (according to other sources, it was 1395), he captured Nizhny Novgorod with Bulgarian and Tatar troops, after which his troops, disobeying the order, sacked the city.
In 1401, Vasily I sent an army to Semyon, who managed to capture the prince's family. Upon learning of this, Semyon began to seek peace and was released by the Grand Duke to Vyatka , where he died in the same year [1] .
From a marriage with a certain Alexandra, he left his son Basil , from whom the princes Gorbaty-Shuisky and Glazaty-Shuisky went.
