Shapovalov, Igor Alekseevich

Igor Alekseevich Shapovalov (born 1945 ) is a Soviet Russian ballet dancer , choreographer , teacher, and director. People's Artist of the USSR (1985) [1] .

Biography

Born on December 3, 1945 in Jalal-Abad (now Kyrgyzstan ).

He graduated from the Frunzensky School of Music and Choreography (1955–1961) (teachers U. Sarbagishev , S. Abdujalilov) and the Perm Choreography School (1961–1963) (teachers L. V. Asaulyak, Yu. I. Plakht). From 1963 to 1989 he worked at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater. P. I. Tchaikovsky .

In 1967-1985 he taught folk dance in the Perm Ballet School . In 1986 he taught folk stage dance in Paris.

Since 1969, he has headed the choreographic ensemble of the Perm Polytechnic Institute "Solar Rainbow".

Since 1989, he has been artistic director and chief choreographer of the Moscow Ballet on Ice Theater.

In 2008, he was the chief director of ceremonies at the II World Delphic Games . He also directed and directed mass theater performances and festivals in Moscow, Berlin, Cuba, India, including: Olympiad-80 in Moscow, World Festivals of Youth and Students in Havana and Moscow, theatrical festivals of folk art in India (1988). , Delhi , Trivandram ), World Folklore Festival in Moscow (1990).
