History
The historical coat of arms of Yegoryevsk in 1779 is a half-vowel (not a vowel, since it is not St. George himself who is depicted, but his hand). The description of which reads: “In the 1st part of the shield, in the golden field, part of the coat of arms of Ryazansk: a silver sword and scabbard placed on the cross, a green hat above them, which is the Prince’s coat of arms on the Prince. In the 2nd part of the shield, in the red field, emerging from the cloud, by the hand of the Holy Great Martyr George, pierced by the serpent. "
Description
The restoration of the historical coat of arms with the hand of the Holy Great Martyr George (Egoria) emerging from the clouds piercing with a spear of a serpent talking about the name of the city, taking into account the modern administrative-territorial division, symbolizes the continuity of generations, the continuity of traditions; shows the respectful attitude of local residents to their past and cultural heritage.
Gold is a symbol of wealth, stability, respect, intelligence. Silver is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding. The scarlet (red) color is a symbol of courage, labor, strength, beauty and celebration.
Approved by decision of the Council of Deputies of the city settlement Yegoryevsk dated 28.04.2011 No. 28/4 It is entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No. 6878.
