Ar-Razi (chess player)

Ar-Razi is one of the first known players in the shatrange ( IX century ). A native of the city of Rey (Iran). He became famous at the court of the Caliph al-Mutawakkil ( 847 - 861 ), having won against Adli . The author of the treatise "Elegance in Chess", which is considered lost. The manuscripts of some authors include the statements of ar-Razi and his tasks.
